in better hands!

Nothing can replace the experience of holding a book in your hand and looking through it at your own pace. It’s why we exhibit at conferences! When we can’t be at a conference in our own booth, Authors Expo allows us to display our books and get them into the hands of the teachers and librarians who make the purchasing decisions. They’re pros, and a pleasure to work with.

Authors Expo consistently gives our books excellent exposure at trade shows. Whether or not we attend, our titles are always well-represented Even though Random House, Inc. is a large company, the Library Marketing Department is relatively small — and our show budget isn’t unlimited — so how do we maintain a presence at those important state shows we can’t attend in person? Authors Expo to the rescue!
For more than 15 years, Random House, Inc. has depended on Authors Expo to represent us at 8–10 shows per year across the country. Their team is knowledgeable, reliable, friendly, and their booth is always set up beautifully and on time. With Authors Expo, we never have to worry.
And there’s more — when we unexpectedly attend one of these state shows, the Authors Expo booth becomes a comfortable home base where we can settle in, host a surprise author appearance, or chat with collection development professionals.
On behalf of all Random House, Inc. imprints and our Client Publishers, thank you for a job exceptionally well done!by their professional, engaging staff. Their impressive exhibits and trusted reputation keep us coming back — they truly care about publishers, authors, and librarians alike.

I wanted to put into writing the comment I shared with you at ALA this past summer. The Authors Expo was—and still is for me, and I’m sure for many others—one of the true highlights of the conference. I consistently found myself spending more time exploring your exhibit than attending any individual programs.
Keep up the excellent work.

Last week I attended the NYLA conference in Saratoga Springs, NY. Over the course of my career, I’ve gone to these conferences from time to time, and I’ve always found that one of the most valuable parts is the time I’m able to spend at the Authors Expo. It’s one of the few opportunities I have to personally examine and evaluate new books. I can look closely at the photographs and graphics, review the index and table of contents, and skim through the pages to get an overall sense of the content. I can also assess whether the material supports our curriculum and student assignments, and check the print size and binding to determine if a book can withstand regular student use. Best of all, I don’t have to rely solely on a reviewer’s opinion.
While exploring the exhibit, I discovered one book filled with excellent information and well-suited for middle school students, though the cover graphics would likely discourage all but the most determined reader. Another had solid content, but a particularly disturbing photo of a shooting victim made me reconsider it for our collection. On the positive side, I found Eleanor, a very appealing early biography that I will recommend to our elementary librarian. And there were several books that had not been reviewed anywhere yet—engaging, informative titles that I’ve now added to my list to order soon.
For me, this exhibit is always one of the highlights of the conference. I make a point of setting aside plenty of time to review these wonderful new books. Please continue providing this much-needed and incredibly helpful service!
In an age when the Internet plays such a prominent role in our lives—and especially in the work of librarians—we must not forget the importance of carefully selecting books for our collections. Authors Expo makes that task easier and far more enjoyable.
Thank you.
